Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions, which are often spotted in the area. The chances of seeing these lions are around 60-70%, though they can sometimes be elusive, especially if they are down in the grasslands hunting. If you’re fortunate enough to spot them resting in the trees, it’s a truly unforgettable sight. Afterward, you’ll continue your journey to the outskirts of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Given the long day ahead, there will be little to do upon arrival except check into your accommodation and relax as you prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure. Optional (extra cost of $100): For those interested, chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura Gorge is available before heading to Ishasha. Please note that a chimp tracking permit must be secured in advance.

The beauty of this rainforest is breathtaking! The landscape is dramatically steep and densely forested, but it’s crisscrossed by a network of animal trails that allow access to visitors. The duration of the trek and the terrain will vary depending on the movements of the gorilla group. Once you find them, you’ll have one hour to observe these magnificent, yet endangered, creatures up close. The experience with these gentle giants is truly memorable. After the trek, you’ll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, a stunning spot surrounded by lush, green terraced hills rising between 2,200 and 2,478 meters.
