Day 1; Pick up from Entebbe international airport / Kampala – Drive to Murchison falls national park – Hiking to the top of the falls

After your early morning breakfast, our company representative—who will also be your driver-guide—will meet you for a briefing about your 3-day Murchison Falls National Park Safari. You’ll then begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda. This park is one of Uganda’s premier wildlife destinations, boasting over 76 mammal species—including four of the Big Five—and more than 451 recorded bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. Highlights of the park also include the awe-inspiring Murchison Falls and a scenic boat launch to the base of the falls.

Your drive will take you through the historically significant Luwero Triangle, with a brief stop at the local roadside market to sample fresh, organic Ugandan fruits like pineapples, mangoes, sugarcane, and watermelon. You’ll then continue to Masindi Town for a short break to relax, enjoy refreshments, and have lunch before proceeding to the park.

Upon arrival, your driver-guide will lead you on a hike to the top of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River is funneled through a narrow 7-meter gorge and plunges 43 meters below, creating a thunderous spectacle. After taking in the dramatic views, you’ll head to your reserved lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2; Murchison Falls National park – Morning game drive – Afternoon boat cruise

After enjoying an early breakfast, set out on a morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park in search of its incredible wildlife. The park is home to a rich variety of animal species including giraffes, Uganda kobs, oribis, lions, spotted hyenas, elusive leopards, large herds of elephants, Cape buffaloes, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, and many more. You’ll also spot a wide array of bird species along the way. Your knowledgeable driver-guide will share fascinating insights about the animals and their habitats, making your game drive both exciting and informative.

Following the morning game drive, take a short break to relax and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic 3-hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, leading you to the base of the stunning Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to see aquatic wildlife like hippos, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, and possibly even the rare shoebill stork. You may also observe elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks coming to drink or swim along the riverbanks.

After the boat trip, head out for an evening game drive, the perfect time to spot the park’s top predators such as leopards, spotted hyenas, and prides of lions, which are often more active at dusk. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and head out for one final game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. This is another great opportunity to spot the park’s diverse wildlife, including giraffes, Uganda kobs, oribis, lions, spotted hyenas, elusive leopards, large herds of elephants, Cape buffaloes, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, and many other species. You’ll also encounter a wide variety of birds. Your experienced driver-guide will continue to share insightful information about everything you come across, making the experience even more enriching.

Following the game drive you’ll enjoy lunch before beginning your return journey to Kampala, marking the end of your 3-day Murchison Falls National Park Safari.
