This is a short trip focused exclusively on viewing the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southern Uganda. You’ll stay in basic lodges with private bathrooms and hot showers. It’s a perfect getaway for last-minute travelers or budget-conscious adventurers who want to combine a gorilla experience with a traditional East African wildlife safari.
Day 1: Pickup from Kampala and Transfer to Bwindi Forest
After breakfast, you will meet our team, recognized by their Terenga Safaris uniforms, for a warm welcome. We’ll ensure that all your belongings are securely packed in the vehicle as we begin our journey. Our driver-guide will provide an overview of the trip, detailing the itinerary through to the final day when we bid you farewell at the airport. We will then set off toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with several stops along the way to enjoy nature. These breaks will include visits to safe restrooms, opportunities for photos, and a spot for lunch if needed. Upon reaching Bwindi, we’ll check in at our accommodations, where you can enjoy dinner and rest, preparing for the exciting activities of the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Lake Mburo national park.
Start your day with breakfast, then head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing from the park officials. Afterward, you and your guides will embark on a hike through dense creepers and undergrowth in search of the gorillas, a journey that may take up to three-quarters of the day. The area is thickly forested, but numerous animal pathways make it accessible to visitors. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph them as they play, feed, and groom. After the experience, we’ll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an evening game drive or, time permitting, a walk with the giraffes. Later, we’ll check in at our accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
