You’ll stay in comfortable lodges equipped with private toilets and hot running water showers. It’s the perfect getaway for last-minute travelers or budget-conscious adventurers looking to combine a gorilla experience with a traditional East African wildlife safari.
Day 1: Pick Up from Kampala and Transfer to Kibale forest National park
After breakfast, you’ll meet our team, easily recognizable in Amakula African Safaris uniforms, for a warm welcome. We’ll ensure your belongings are securely stored in the vehicle before we begin our journey. Your driver-guide will provide an overview of the trip, which will continue until we drop you off at the airport on the final day. At 5:30 a.m., we’ll start the journey to Kibale Forest National Park, with several stops along the way for restroom breaks, photo opportunities, and a safe spot for lunch if needed. Upon arrival at Kibale, you’ll head to the briefing center, where you’ll receive an introduction and meet your ranger guide, who will lead you into the forest for primate tracking. After the tracking, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to relax and prepare for the next day’s exciting gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Safari and resting
Start your day with a hearty breakfast, then bring your packed lunch to the park headquarters for a briefing by park officials. Afterward, you and your guides will embark on a hike through dense undergrowth and thick creepers in search of the gorillas, a journey that may take up to three-quarters of the day. The forest is dense, but it’s interspersed with animal trails that allow access for tourists. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph them as they play, feed, and groom. After this incredible experience, you’ll be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, where you’ll spend the night.
