Be ready by 6:00 AM for a prompt departure to make the most of the day. Your journey will take you through the scenic landscapes of Kenya’s coastal countryside, with glimpses of traditional Swahili villages and plantations before entering Tsavo East National Park through the Bachuma Gate after approximately 2.5 hours of driving.

Tsavo East, covering over 13,000 square kilometers, is one of Africa’s largest game parks, boasting an open savanna ecosystem dotted with baobab trees and bordered by the Yatta Plateau—the longest lava flow in the world. As soon as you enter the park, your 3-Day Kenya Wildlife Safari adventure begins with a mid-morning game viewing drive in search of Africa’s iconic wildlife: elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, and even the elusive leopard. The park’s wide vistas and sparse vegetation make wildlife easier to spot compared to other more forested regions.

Tsavo East to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary – Luxurious Wilderness and Nightlife of the Wild

Day two of your 3-Day Kenya Wildlife Safari begins with an early sunrise game drive, which offers the best opportunity to spot predators before they retreat from the morning heat. With a chance to witness animals like cheetahs, hyenas, lions, and leopards in action, this early morning exploration is often a guest favorite.

Return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast, and soon after, check out and proceed to the nearby Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, arriving just in time for lunch. Located within the sprawling plains of Tsavo, this private sanctuary offers an exclusive and intimate wildlife experience. You’ll check in at the Salt Lick Safari Lodge, famous for its uniquely designed elevated rooms that overlook a busy waterhole.

Each of the lodge’s rooms offers uninterrupted views of the wildlife below, giving you the rare chance to enjoy a 3-Day Kenya Wildlife Safari experience right from your balcony. During lunch, observe herds of elephants, zebras, and buffalo making their way to drink and cool off.

Morning Game Drive and Return to Mombasa – Farewell to the Wild

Your final day begins before sunrise with a pre-breakfast game drive. As the sun casts its golden glow across the savanna, you’ll witness the park waking up. Early morning is prime time for animal activity, and with a bit of luck, you may spot a predator stalking its prey or a herd of elephants moving together in the cool air.

Return to the lodge for a full breakfast, after which you’ll check out and head out for one last mid-morning game drive in the sanctuary. Keep your eyes peeled for giraffes, waterbucks, monkeys, dik-diks, and colorful bird species as you wind your way through this incredible ecosystem.

From there, your 3-Day Kenya Wildlife Safari driver-guide will begin the journey back to Mombasa, with a brief lunch stop at a selected hotel en route. You are expected to arrive back at your Mombasa hotel by mid-to-late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable Kenya wildlife adventure.
